Rainforest Village at Universal’s Volcano Bay

Encompassing an “action-packed” river, Rainforest Village is mostly comprised of thrill rides, including a raft ride that features zero-g hang time. Don’t let that fool you, though – the area also houses some more serene attractions, such as a relaxation pool.

Rainforest Village Attractions

Kala & Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides

Climb up through the volcano, Krakatau, to the top of the ride, where two brave guests are simultaneously sent down Kala & Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides via drop doors. Their paths then crisscross several times as they plummet down the intertwining tubes.

Maku Puihi Round Raft Rides

Maku and Puihi are two side-by-side slides that each take riders on a thrilling journey in a five-person raft, plunging through tunnels and funnels.

Ohyah & Ohno Drop Slides

Ohyah & Ohno are twin slides that twist and turn before culminating in an exciting drop into a pool.

Puka Uli Lagoon

Since Rainforest Village can’t all be high-thrill attractions, Universal has installed Puka Uli Lagoon, a leisure pool (the only one to sit outside Wave Village). For the kiddos, there are some fun features, such as bongo drums and water jets.

Punga Racers

One of Rainforest Village’s less intense attractions is Punga Racers, a body slide on which riders compete against one another across four lanes. After emerging from the underwater sea caverns, the winner receives a “watery salute” from Punga himself.

TeAwa the Fearless River

TeAwa the Fearless River is a high-speed whitewater “torrent river” (the opposite of a lazy river). Prepare to encounter churning rapids and choppy waves – along with, perhaps, a few surprises.

Tonga and Raki of Taniwha Tubes

Grab your inner tube – single or double-rider – and race down either Tonga (the green water slides) or Raki (the blue), which offer slightly different twisty experiences. Along the way, “mischievous” tiki statues will attempt to zap you with jets of water when you least expect it.

Rainforest Village Dining

Bambu (quick-service)

Bambu is a quick-service restaurant offering burgers, sandwiches, and chicken tenders. A small selection of grab-and-go options are also available.

The Feasting Frog (quick-service)

The Feasting Frog is fashioned in the shape of a giant tropical frog. While the snacks offered inside were originally some of the most sought-after dishes of them all, this venue is now better known for its delicious tacos.

Kunuku Boat Bar (limited-service bar)

This beached outrigger canoe, with its Chinese junk-rig sails, acts as a bar, serving up beer, specialty cocktails, and frozen drinks on Volcano Bay’s shore.
