What is Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry?
With the Métro-Floo, a unique mode of wizarding transit inspired by the iconic Floo Network from the films, guests will travel from Paris to the British Ministry of Magic for the trial of Dolores Umbridge. Upon arrival, they enter the Ministry’s grand atrium and explore various departments before boarding magical, omnidirectional lifts to witness the trial.
The event takes a dramatic turn when Umbridge attempts to escape, prompting guests to join Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and a house-elf named Higgledy in a thrilling chase. This high-stakes pursuit moves up, down, forward, backward, sideways, and more throughout the Ministry as guests dodge attacks from Death Eaters and creatures along the way.
What is the queue for this attraction like?
The queue for Universal Orlando Resort’s headline ride in the upcoming Harry Potter expansion is almost an attraction in itself. As you move through, you’ll get to peek into familiar scenes from the films and experience brand-new ones created just for the park.
The journey begins in the locker room, where you’ll find the lockers of Harry, Ron, and Neville, who are training to become Aurors. As you progress, you’ll enter the Hall of Ministers, where, in true Wizarding World fashion, paintings come to life. Here, you’ll see Ministers from various eras, from Ulick Gamp in the 1700s to Millicent Bagnold in the 1980s. Also, don’t forget to take a look at the magical moving map of the Ministry of Magic in the next room!
Continuing on, you’ll step into the Auror’s Headquarters, where they are actively gathering information for ongoing cases. Be sure to keep an eye out for hidden Easter eggs throughout this section, including a tribute to fallen Aurors. Finally, you’ll walk through Dolores Umbridge’s pink and gold office, adorned with her infamous cat plates. Her former house-elf, Higgledy, can also be seen here, packing up the office in preparation for an upcoming trial.
From here, you’ll enter the lift station that will carry you to the courtroom for Dolores Umbridge’s trial.

- Both the queue and attraction spaces for Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry are adorned with tiles. The Métro-Floo alone features over 80,000 subway tiles, while the British Ministry of Magic space boasts over 125,000 of the Ministry tiles in five colors!
- Dame Imelda Staunton has reprised her role as Dolores Umbridge for Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.
