Orlando Informer is a theme-park vacation-planning company founded in 2011. Every year, we help millions of people plan a better vacation to Orlando’s biggest tourist destinations with savings, experiences, and advice.
We’re looking to add vacation-planning writers to our staff who have an in-depth and unrivaled knowledge of Orlando’s theme parks and resorts, inside and out, from the parks to the hotels and everything in between. These writers’ domain will exist solely in the nitty-gritty details of how the resorts operate and how its guests can have the best possible experiences there.
Orlando Informer is a small, nimble, and remote-first company, so it’s likely you’ll get experience across many areas of our business. With this in mind, our writers tend to focus on one of two areas:
- assist in the managing, revising, and updating of our unparalleled vacation planning pages, which consists of over 300 detailed pages on everything from the individual attractions and restaurants to packing and flight guides. In addition, you will be expected to help in the creation of new pages and related content and in the regular excursion to the property in order to take photographs and confirm various details, both large and small.
OR - assist in the creation of new blog posts that comprehensively cover the latest theme-park news, often in a time-sensitive environment. And above and beyond the news, you’ll help pen thorough blog posts that is foundational to Orlando Informer’s mission of helping guests have a better vacation. Sometimes this means acting as our boots-on-the-ground resource in the theme parks.

Basic Qualifications:
Qualified applicants should be able to demonstrate expert levels of knowledge regarding Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Parks and Resorts, and/or Walt Disney World Resort, strong writing and photographic abilities, and proficiency in search engine optimization and WordPress. In addition, time-management skills are a must; this position comes with a degree of independence, and all applicants should feel comfortable meeting deadlines with little to no direct supervision. You should be able to easily visit Central Florida’s theme parks.
Minimum two years professional experience working in the field of journalism, themed entertainment, media, or other applicable segment. Associate’s degree or greater.
Additionally, a writing sample is required. It should be between 500 and 1,000 words and answer the following prompt: “Identify an attraction you think needs to be refurbished or completely replaced. What attraction would you select, and what changes would you make?”
