Just go out and have fun!! A couple of years ago we were at the Magic Kingdom when a downpour began. We didn’t even worry about ponchos, just went out and had a blast. It was really easy to get on Dumbo since everyone else was trying to get out of the rain. It was some of the most fun we have had! A lot of people leave when it rains, or don’t even go to a park so the crowds are always less.

Jump around in the rain and have fun. It makes the trip more fun if you don’t let it ruin your day. Just run around in it and have fun.

It’s great definitely a welcome relief from the heat more if a fun convenience than an inconvienience 😀 I have very fond memories of the parks in the rain 🙂

Even though I’m English I was completely taken aback by the near monsoons in Orlando! Don’t hide from it, just get out there and get drenched!

My best memory last year was coming off the last hulk ride before it closed for a storm, then sitting by the lake looking across to hogwarts and taking pictures of the lightning looking as if it was striking the towers! Brilliant! Always fun to see a reallky good storm….:-)

Best advice- When you see rain in the forecast, unless it is a huge storm it is usually a good thing. This creates less crowds, which means shorter lines! If it is raining, go to Universal Studios as most of the park is indoors. If you don’t care about getting wet, then you should be the only ones walking in the rain, but the only ones hitting everything!

Last time we were there we left the park and ate at Margaritaville, when we returned to the park after the rain had slowed down and eventually stopped, the park had pretty much cleared and wait time were low. All of the rides had returned to normal operation with very little wait times. I suggest leaving the park and grabbing a bite to eat indoors at City Walk when it rains!

Get a dollar poncho at Wal-Mart or the Dollar store and keep in your pocket. Just have a dry pair of shoes to keep your feet from getting wet. Then Hope from attraction to attraction in low crowds.

Be a man and don’t give a s***. It’s still warm and the sun will be shining again within 30 minutes, so you’ll be dry in no time. Use this time to do some of the busier attractions, as people will be hiding in the cafeteria.

Do the water rides, that way, when the sun comes back out, you’ll only have got wet once. xx

A few hours in the Florida sun after the rain clears up and you’ll be dry anyway. Don’t mind the rain, enjoy the water rides and just go for it! If it’s expected pack a change of clothes in the car or in a sealed plastic bag and you’ll be fine without the air conditioning giving you pneumonia.

We carry inexpensive rain capes with us in the bottom pocket of our daughter’s wheelchair, along with a collapsible Universal umbrella.  We only use them for downpours, which can even feel great in the hot summer months.  We’ve spent the whole day in a pouring rain before, only because we live 1-1/2 hours away and I’ll not waste our time due to a little Orlando rain.

We always purchase ponchos at the dollar store- much cheaper than inside the parks. Also use nice flip flops for no soggy socks and shoes. This is true for both water rides and rainy days.

Rain?  What rain?  Like others have mentioned, we always have dollar store ponchos on hand….several, so we don’t have to worry with trying to   fold them once we’re done with them.  Also, as aforementioned….flip flops!

There is something to be said for playing in the rain as an adult. Splash in the puddles, take lots of photos and laugh. A fun day in and of itself. The fact that you are in an Orlando theme park makes it fun times 1000!! 😀

#1 – You’re probably going to get wet.
#2 – There are some attractions that will be closed.
#3 – The ground might be slick, be careful.
#4 – Have a great time!

If there is lightening, they will close the rides for safety. Just make a b-line to the closest indoor ride and prepare to wait. We will use this time to eat in the park, or we’ll go out to our van and eat the lunch we packed in our cooler.

Just suck it up and have fun!! Walk under coverings as much as possible but if you get wet you get wet no big deal. When it’s in the 90’s all a poncho will do is make you even hotter. Those things are ovens. Laugh in the rain and create fun memories.

When we vacation we don’t let a little rain stop us unless the ride closes and in that case we get under an awning and people watch!! 🙂

First off, before you leave the hotel be sure to shower and put on good deodorant. Then don’t forget to put on your good waterproof shoes. During the inevitable 4:00pm daily summer storm and subsequent outdoor attraction suspensions find a good spot under shelter while you wait for the 15minute storm to pass. Then prepare for it to get very muggy after the storm passes as the water evaporates off the ground once it heats up again. Stay hydrated and be sure to reapply the deodorant that you brought with you in your park backpack.

The best park to enjoy in the rain is Hollywood Studios…every attraction is indoors…and mostly shows…so you’re not stuck waiting on a long and gigantic line because the theaters can seat a ton of people comfortably. Happy visiting!

Rain or shine, moisture wick clothing. Dries fast. Small sling back pack with poncho or small umbrella, water bottle, snacks, plastic zip lock bags and sunscreen.

Plan lunch at 3 when the rain is sure to come, usually gone by the time you’re done. Ponchos are ovens agreed. Not a bad idea to pack dry socks in a backpack. Water parks are dead when its raining all day so those are good bets, you’re already wet!

No outdoor rollercoaster in rain usually because rain in florida = T storms. Seaworld is a good park to go to on a rainy day-plenty of theatres covered and less rides. Epcots also a good plan because you can spend plenty of time in future world inside ‘the seas’, ‘the land’ or ‘innoventions’ 🙂
Buy a poncho or take one with you if its expected to be rainy season, it will be put to good use! Make sure you clean them and dry them out after every use back at the hotel/villa though or they can get mouldy.
