Universal Orlando Resort offers a variety of on-site shopping opportunities, but if you still feel the need to hunt for souvenirs beyond The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you don’t have to go far to find some fantastic deals – just head down the road to Orlando International Premium Outlets.
Know before you go: there are two Orlando Premium Outlets!
Let’s try to clear up any confusion there may be, as Orlando offers quite a few outlet options. There are two large outlet complexes: this one, near Universal Orlando, and a second one further south on Interstate 4, near Disney World.
The confusion comes from the fact that they now have very similar names: the one near Universal is called Orlando International Premium Outlets, and the one near Disney is Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets (which you can read all about in our write-up). What’s even more confusing is that both outlets are actually on International Drive – it just so happens that the Vineland Ave location got named after its cross-street.
(Another point of confusion comes from Orlando International Premium Outlets’s name – it used to be Orlando Premium Outlets International Drive, and then, before that, simply Prime Outlets [before it was bought by Premium Outlets]. This can be confusing for locals, so we feel for our friends who are visiting from out of town.)
Here’s a custom-made Google map that may help: OI Orlando shopping map (it will open in a new window). The Orlando outlets are labeled with a yellow dollar sign. Click either one and then zoom in to see exactly where it is located.
