What is Hiccup’s Wing Gliders?

Hiccup's Wing Gliders at Epic Universe's How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk
Hiccup’s Wing Gliders at Epic Universe’s How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk

On this family thrill coaster, Hiccup has engineered a winged contraption designed to launch adventurous Dragon Riders high into the sky. The experience begins as you walk through Hiccup’s home and into his latest workshop, where he’s developing a new way for Vikings to take flight—no dragon required. Before the wings are even attached, this Night Fury triggers an unexpected launch, sending you soaring through the air at speeds up to 45 mph and heights of 50 feet. You’ll dive, glide, and sweep alongside Hiccup and Toothless, fully embracing the exhilarating spirit of dragon flight.

How scary is Hiccup’s Wing Gliders?

In terms of fear factor, this ride earns a gentle two out of five exploding dragon eggs. It’s a smooth, easygoing coaster that doesn’t soar too high, especially when compared to its high-speed neighbor, Stardust Racers. If you’ve ever experienced Slinky Dog Dash over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll find this a similarly family-friendly experience.

What sets it apart is the charm: you’ll zip past familiar faces like Hiccup and Toothless, glide through scenic views of the Isle of Berk, and even catch a few extra dragons along the way. It’s a lighthearted adventure that gives you the thrill of dragon flight without the intensity.

That said, if launches of any kind make you uneasy (no matter how tame), you might want to sit this one out. But for most guests, it’s a fun, whimsical ride that’s more heartwarming than hair-raising.
