What is Fyre Drill?

Fyre Drill at Universal Epic Universe

Viking twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut have reimagined Berk’s Fyre Skööl as Fyre Drill, a family-friendly, interactive boat ride. Guests are invited to this playful competition by aiming at flame-like targets (and even other boats!) with onboard water cannons.

Where is Fyre Drill?

In How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, which is in Epic Universe

Fyre Drill – height restrictions and other factors

Children under 48″ must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Hand-held infants are not permitted. This attraction also offers Express Pass access. Child Swap is available.

What you wish you knew before you experienced it

The chances of getting wet on this attraction are pretty high—even while you’re still in line. For that reason, it’s a great ride to tackle before a midday break or as one of your final stops of the day. Ponchos are a wise move and are available for purchase throughout Universal.

Each boat features a small cubby at the front to safely store your belongings during the ride. And if you end up wetter than expected, no worries—People Dryers are available nearby for a quick warm-up at $7.00.

How scary is Fyre Drill?

This ride might be low on thrills, but it definitely makes a splash—literally. Thanks to all that water, we’re giving it one out of five fish baskets on the fear scale!

Opening Date

May 22, 2025

Fun Fact

Fyre Drill at Universal Epic Universe

Fyre Drill’s water cannons shoot over 28 feet through the air to reach the many targets throughout the ride, along with other Viking ships.
