What are the public spaces at Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites?
Because Endless Summer is the single most inexpensive resort at Universal, the theming at Surfside Inn and Suites isn’t always as pronounced as what one can find at, say, Sapphire Falls Resort or Portofino Bay Hotel, but there are still many fun touches to be discovered nearly everywhere you look. A beachy vibe runs all throughout the property, with a particular emphasis on the ocean, helping to form the place where “the sun, surf, sand, and water meet.” Universal says that the hotel is “washed in the colors of nature” and evokes a coastal lifestyle, thanks in part to the vibrant color palette, the towering exterior murals, and the neighboring lake, which should provide some pretty spectacular views from Surfside’s rooms.
Surfside Inn and Suites – lobby
The big, open, and spacious lobby is meant to make guests feel as if they’ve entered the ocean’s depths, featuring “vibrant surf- and wave-like” designs, a sand-colored floor, sea glass-inspired couches, and a chandelier that is designed to resemble bubbles forming from the crash of a blue wave overhead. Inside the lobby, guests will find the hotel check-in desk, luggage services, the Universal Studios Store, a Starbucks, and the Universal Vacation Planning Center and ticket desk. Around the corner is the quick-service eatery Beach Break Cafe.
Surfside Inn and Suites – shopping
Featuring a neat natural wood sign, along with a sand-and-ocean color scheme, Surfside has its own Universal Studios Store, which continues the beach theme while offering gifts and souvenirs from the most popular Universal properties, such as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Minions.
Surfside Inn and Suites – dining
In addition to the lobby Starbucks, Surfside has the reasonably priced Beach Break Cafe, with four different hot-counter stations that offer different fare for breakfast versus lunch and dinner. Near the pool, guests will discover the Sand Bar serving up draft beer, frozen cocktails, and more.
Does Surfside have a fitness center?
Surfside doesn’t skimp on the fitness center, which is complimentary to all guests and boasts the latest in cardio and weight machines, kettlebells, and free weights.
Surfside Inn and Suites – game room
Next to Beach Break Cafe is the Surfside Game Room, where gamers can while away the hours playing the coolest arcade games, racing simulators, and even classics like the basketball toss.
What is the Surfside I-Drive garden?
Located outside the perimeter fence that surrounds Surfside Inn and Suites, this little Universal-themed garden contains a collection of plants that each have a wink-and-nudge connection to the company, its movies, and/or its theme-park resort. Keep an eye out for mentions of favorite movie characters, including the Minions, King Kong, and the Lorax.
