If you’ve booked a stay at Universal’s Surfside Inn and Suites, you’ll want to know how to navigate around Universal Orlando Resort, with Surfside as your home base. This page includes information on the transportation options between Surfside Inn, Universal CityWalk Orlando, and the Universal Orlando theme parks (Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure). This page also includes information about the shuttle service from Universal Orlando Resort to SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica (SeaWorld’s water park), and Volcano Bay, Universal’s water theme park.
How do I get from Surfside Inn and Suites to CityWalk, Universal Studios Florida, and Islands of Adventure?
As a value hotel at Universal Orlando Resort, Surfside Inn and Suites (along with its sister hotel, Dockside Inn and Suites) is not connected to CityWalk and the other hotels via the waterways or walkways that many guests have become familiar with. The location of the resort pretty much limits the transportation options to Universal’s dedicated buses that take guests to and from the main theme park area.
Universal operates a bus service that runs continuously between the hotels and the general guest drop-off area near the Universal parking garages, which runs from one hour before Early Park Admission until 2:00 am every day. Buses arrive every 15 minutes, but be aware that when leaving Universal to return to Surfside, the line for a spot on the bus can get long at peak times (typically, when both theme parks are closing).
How do I get to Volcano Bay?
A shuttle bus transports guests from Surfside Inn and Suites directly to the Volcano Bay water theme park, located on the edge of Universal Orlando’s main campus (right next door to Cabana Bay Beach Resort). The bus departs approximately every 15 minutes.
How can I get to SeaWorld and Aquatica?
Universal’s hotels provide complimentary scheduled transportation, called the Connector Shuttle, to SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica (SeaWorld’s water park). We emphasize scheduled because it is very important to understand that the bus does not run continuously; rather, in general, it picks up and drops off once in the morning and once in the evening. Check with any Vacation Planning Center desk to reserve pick-up and drop-off times for your visit.
