What is Manta?
Manta is a one-of-a-kind flying roller coaster, which means guests load into the ride vehicle before it positions itself to mimic the sensation of gliding through the oceans just as a majestic manta ray would. The track itself boasts four inversions – a pretzel loop, two twists, and a corkscrew. This unique combination of movements makes Manta a memorable and smooth ride.
Where is Manta located?
In the Sea of Shallows at SeaWorld Orlando
Manta – height restrictions and other factors
Height requirement is 54 inches; included in Quick Queue.
What you wish you knew before you experienced it
The unique ride experience might be uncomfortable for some guests. You load into the ride vehicle as you would any other roller coaster. Once all guests are locked and loaded into their seats, the floor drops from under the ride vehicle, and the ride vehicle itself pivots so that guests’ torsos are parallel to the ground. This is how Manta simulates gliding through the water – but be ready for the unique sensation that accompanies such positioning.
How scary is Manta?
We rate Manta four out of five rays. In many ways, this is one of the most (if not the most) mild coaster at SeaWorld Orlando. It’s meant to simulate the movements of the creature it’s named after, so the experience is mostly smooth and enjoyable. The track moves guests over some of the most beautiful scenery in SeaWorld. However, the fact of the matter is that this is a roller coaster, and roller coasters are by their nature rather high on the fear factor.
What was Manta’s opening date?
May 22, 2009
Fun Fact
The largest recorded manta ray was a giant oceanic manta ray with a wingspan of nearly 30 feet.

Love, Love, Loved this ride! So hard to describe the feeling but it was incredible. Rode it 5 times and would have done more if we didn't have one person who refused to ride it in our party.
