Stranger Things 5 Announced for Halloween Horror Nights 2026

|

The Upside Down is opening one more gate. Stranger Things is officially returning to Halloween Horror Nights 2026 at Universal Orlando Resort! With the series now complete, the haunted house has the potential to take fans through the biggest moments, scariest creatures, and most emotional scenes from Hawkins’ finale.

If the Season 5 finale left you staring at your screen wondering how it was already over, you’re not alone. Saying goodbye to Eleven, Will, Dustin, Steve, and the rest of the gang felt a little like saying goodbye to old friends. This fall, you’ll get the chance to step back into their world — just with a lot more monsters around every corner.

Here’s how Universal describes this experience:

Join the Hawkins gang for one last adventure as you try to survive an army of Demogorgons, slay the Mind Flayer and defeat Vecna once and for all.

Welcome to the Upside Down

When Stranger Things premiered on Netflix in 2016, nobody could have predicted just how big it would become. What started as a story about a missing kid in a small Indiana town quickly turned into one of the most popular television series of all time.

The show mixed 1980s nostalgia, supernatural horror, sci-fi adventure, and surprisingly heartfelt friendships into something that felt completely unique. One minute you were laughing with the kids riding their bikes through Hawkins. The next, you were hiding behind a pillow while a Demogorgon crawled out of the darkness.

Over five seasons, the Upside Down unleashed one nightmare after another, introducing fans to creatures and threats like the Demogorgon, the Mind Flayer, and Vecna. At the same time, viewers watched a cast of beloved characters grow up before their eyes, from Steve Harrington’s transformation into everyone’s favorite babysitter to Max’s unforgettable “Running Up That Hill” escape. The series delivered no shortage of iconic moments.

And when it came time to say goodbye, Netflix turned the final season into a full-blown event. Volume 1 arrived on Thanksgiving, Volume 2 dropped on Christmas, and the series finale premiered on New Year’s Eve, even receiving theatrical screenings for fans who wanted to experience the ending together. For weeks, it felt like the entire world had returned to Hawkins.

Of course, Hawkins is no stranger (full pun intended) to Halloween Horror Nights.

Stranger Things first arrived at Universal Orlando in 2018, bringing Season 1 to life and ultimately earning House of the Year honors. The following year expanded the story with Seasons 2 and 3, while 2023 plunged guests into Vecna’s nightmare-filled world from Season 4.

Now, for HHN 35, Universal has something it has never had before: the complete story. With five seasons’ worth of monsters, heroes, heartbreak, and horror to choose from, this could be the most ambitious Stranger Things house yet.

What to expect from the haunted house

Get ready to reunite with your favorite Hawkins heroes as you fight your way through an army of Demogorgons, come face to face with the Mind Flayer, and square off against Vecna himself. Something tells us this reunion isn’t going to be a quiet one.
