Star Wars Day 2025: How to Celebrate May the 4th at Walt Disney World

|

The celebration of May the 4th—also known as Star Wars Day—has become a beloved tradition at the Walt Disney World Resort. Since 2013, fans and parkgoers have embraced the occasion, creating their own customs for enjoying the day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Over time, Disney has leaned into the excitement, turning this galactic holiday into an immersive and ever-growing experience for guests of all ages.

Walt Disney World Resort offers countless ways to celebrate Star Wars Day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, especially considering how much Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has to offer. With May the 4th right around the corner, we decided to share our favorite ways to honor the galaxy far, far away this year.  Let’s hit hyperdrive and dive into the details!

“Reclaimed and Reforged” Lightsaber Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Walt Disney World Resort announced the new “Reclaimed and Reforged” lightsaber experience at Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Starting on May 4 (but, of course), the new storyline will allow guests to create unique, custom lightsabers with remnants of ancient, legendary battles and abandoned scrap, collected by space pirates from the most distant parts of the galaxy.

This is a fantastic activity for any fan of the series, especially those who hold Star Wars close to their hearts. The $249.99 cost (plus tax) includes the lightsaber, the workshop experience, and a carrying case. Payment is due at the time of booking. Guests will be able to build their lightsabers with the Reclaimed and Reforged themes while supplies last.

May the 4th 2025 Merchandise Collection for Star Wars Day at Walt Disney World

In addition to the new lightsaber experience, Walt Disney World Resort has unveiled its 2025 May the 4th Be You merchandise collection. The new lineup includes apparel featuring fan-favorite characters Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, available as a pullover or a short-sleeved tee.

This year’s collection also introduces two brand-new ball cap designs—one for adults and one for kids. The adult cap showcases Luke preparing for battle against Darth Vader (mirroring the pullover design), while the kids’ version features beloved droids C-3PO and R2-D2 with the “May the 4th Be With You” slogan.

As if the apparel weren’t exciting enough, the 2025 May the 4th Be With You merchandise collection also features a variety of accessories and wearable collectibles. Star Wars fans can grab an exclusive tote bag featuring a bold Darth Vader logo and a limited-edition pin that mirrors the Luke Skywalker design from the crew shirt.

Rounding out the limited lineup is the 2025 May the 4th MagicBand+, which showcases stylized artwork of Luke and Vader on the strap and a tappable icon emblazoned with red and blue lightsabers.

Sound like must-haves? We agree! These are essentials for any Star Wars fan. The 2025 Star Wars Day collection is already available online as of April 4, 2025, and will be available in person at Walt Disney World on May 4, 2025.

So don your robes, ignite your sabers, and mark your calendars for May the 4th. After all, when it comes to celebrating Star Wars Day, this is the way.
