Spirits of the Coven Coming to Halloween Horror Nights 2022

|

What’s Halloween without a good, classic witch? Spirits of the Coven has been revealed as yet another original house for Halloween Horror Nights this year.

Here’s how Universal describes the house:

A coven of beautiful flapper witches will lure you into their 1920s speakeasy, reveal their haggish true form and turn your scream squad into a witch’s brew. They’ll be cackling; you’ll be screaming.

Witches certainly aren’t strangers to Halloween Horror Nights lore. Many will remember the captivating flying witch that welcomed you into Scary Tales: Deadly Ever After back in 2018. A similarly wicked character appeared in 2001’s original Scary Tales house and 2008’s Scary Tales: Once Upon A Nightmare. In 2008, two scare zones also prominently featured witches: The Path of the Wicked, a twisted take on Wizard of Oz – and Fractured Tales, which brought darkness to classic fairytales and nursery rhymes. Of course, the 2016 and 2017 American Horror Story houses had witches on display as well.

And who could forget The Coven of Halloween Horror Nights: Twenty Years of Fear in 2010? This scare zone leaned into more traditional witch stories, with the Cult of the Raven seeking revenge on those who burned witches in Salem. We have a feeling this is the iteration most likely to be reflected in Spirits of the Coven.

Halloween Horror Nights 2022 will run select nights September 2 through October 31. Find out everything you need to know about tickets here.
