Songs, Slides, and Spirits: Your Weekly Theme-Park Recap (October 11 – 17)

|

Here’s the Orlando theme park news you need to know for the week of October 11 – 17.

1. We’re Dreaming of a White Christmas

We know the spirit of the holidays is part of what makes Walt Disney World Resort so magical every winter. This week, holiday news came out revealing just what we can expect in each park. Some of our favorite highlights include the return of Sunset Season’s Greetings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. The celebrity narrators for EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional have also been revealed!

2. Adventure Awaits!

Next year, in March 2022, two new attractions are coming to Adventure Island. Rapids Racer and Wahoo Remix are the names of the two new water slides coming just in time for summer. Rapids Racer is a two-person raft that coasts through twists and turns. Wahoo Remix will replace Wahoo Run to become Adventure Island’s first waterslide to have synchronized light and sound elements.

3. Oh, Goody!

It’s official — a year after being announced, the Peppa Pig Theme Park is opening on February 24, 2022 in Winter Haven, near Legoland. Predictably, the park is aimed at entertaining younger children and their parents. As such, the park will feature multiple play areas, small rides, and child-friendly entertainment.

4. Spirits and Spirits

At SeaWorld Orlando, two seasonal events are going on through the end of the month. As usual, there’s something for everyone. Halloween Spooktacular is there for kids to enjoy the Trick-or-Treat Trail, or visit with real-life mermaids. For the adults, the Craft Beer Festival is still going strong and features more than 100 craft beers and cocktails from all over Central Florida and the United States.

5. Get Ready to Rock

Ready for a night full of of fun, faith, and energetic sound? Two-time Grammy-nominated folktronica artist Crowder has been added to the lineup for the upcoming Rock the Universe at Universal Studios Florida, which will take place on January 28 and 29, 2022.

That’s it for this week’s news! See you at the parks.
