SeaWorld Orlando’s Kraken roller coaster failed to open for the sixth consecutive day, with no reasoning provided by SeaWorld.

On July 31, Kraken did not open at its scheduled time of 10am due to mechanical issues. SeaWorld has not reflected this closure on signage at the front of the park or their website. Additionally, they have not responded to the handful of park guests who have reached out on social media asking when the attraction will reopen.

@SeaWorld hey, visited sea world today and to my disappointment, Kraken was closed, when will it be reopened?

The lack of reasoning and timeframe for the closure has lead to various speculation, including website Orlando Park News speculating that the downtime is due to a loss of power at the attraction.
SeaWorld’s website describes the coaster as “a monster like no other. Consistently ranked one of the world’s top coasters by ride enthusiasts, this blazing fast floorless steel coaster rises high above the horizon, daring you to take it on. The mythological beast has been unleashed to lift you higher, drop you longer, and spiral you faster than any other coaster in Orlando. All without that piece of equipment standard on lesser coasters: a floor.”
SeaWorld did not reply to our request for comment.
We will update this article with any further developments.
