Trolls, Trolls Holiday, & Trolls: The Beat Goes On!

The story of Poppy, Branch, and all their friends come to life in this new land. We recommend watching the first movie of the Trolls franchise to get acquainted with the characters and the world of the Trolls. The initial film has expanded into three feature films, two holiday specials, and two animated series. While that may seem like a lot to tackle while also planning and packing for your Universal Orlando Resort vacation, we have two short watches to help you and your family get familiar with the Caterbus, the form of transport on the Trolls Trollercoaster.

The Caterbus is featured in Trolls Holiday, a 30-minute special that emphasizes the importance of celebrating special days, and in “Branch Bum,” an episode of Trolls: The Beat Goes On! where the trolls find themselves on a desert island.

Now that you have familiarized yourself with Pop Village, take a ride on the Trolls Trollercoaster Caterbus, just like some of our favorite trolls while outrunning a group of spiders. You’ll also be able to feel like a member of the Snack Pack by hanging out among the flowers and mushrooms in Poppy’s Playground and enjoying some delicious sweets at Trolls Treats.

Kung Fu Panda

Po’s Kung Fu Training Camp at Universal Studios Florida

Much like the Trolls franchise, this kung fu fighting panda has expanded into four films, three television series, and a holiday special. Don’t worry, though. We only recommend watching the initial film in the franchise, Kung Fu Panda. However, you’re welcome to enjoy the other three movies if you’d like some extra credit.

Step into the world of Po at Dreamworks Land and train to become a kung fu master at Po’s Kung Fu Training Camp, where you’ll be fully immersed in the vibrant Panda Village. Plus, don’t miss your chance to meet the legendary Dragon Warrior himself at Po Live! Learn some kung fu wisdom directly from Po, and maybe catch a few of his cooking and babysitting tips too. Get ready to unleash your inner warrior – make sure your kung fu skills are sharp and ready for action!

Shrek & Shrek 2

Shrek’s Swamp Meet at Universal Studios Florida

This franchise is a beloved DreamWorks classic, filled with lovable (and occasionally mischievous) characters like Shrek, Princess Fiona, Donkey, Puss in Boots, and many more. In DreamWorks Land, you can step directly into Shrek’s swamp straight out of the first movie. Get ready for an encounter with the famous ogres themselves and their charming sidekick, Donkey, who might just treat you to some of his legendary waffles nearby at Swamp Snacks.

Guests will also be able to hang out with Princess Fiona’s father, who we met in Shrek 2 as the ruler of Far Far Away. He will appear in frog form in King Harold’s Swamp Symphony along with some of his musical amphibian friends. Hopefully, the Fairy Godmother is nowhere in sight!

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

After the famous Puss in Boots lost his eighth out of nine lives, he decided it was time to retire his dangerous ways. He headed to Mama Luna’s to live his final life in peace and free of any threats that may harm him, accompanied by many other feline acquaintances. Guests will be able to interact with Puss’s fellow housemates at Mama Luna’s Feline Fiesta and may also catch a glimpse of the notorious swashbuckling feline himself.

Gabby’s Dollhouse

While not exactly a movie, Gabby and her friends are set to play a starring role in DreamWorks Land. This show, popular among younger dreamers, is sure to capture your heart. Available on Netflix, Gabby’s Dollhouse follows Gabby and her adventures inside her dollhouse, along with the tales of the feline residents. When you visit, you might even have the chance to meet Gabby herself at DreamWorks Character Zone or pick up some themed apparel and accessories at High Five Hideaway.
