This weekend at SeaWorld a military mom returning from service overseas surprised her 6-year-old son in a reunion right before his favorite show, One Ocean.
More than 5,000 guests were present at Shamu stadium when the reunion occurred minutes before the show began. The son, Aiden Rodriguez, is a big fan of the show and always urges his family to stand up to honor his mother during the “Hero’s Salute” pre-show.
The pre-show occurs prior to every showing of One Ocean and asks past or present members of The United States Military, Armed Forces of The United Kingdom, and other allies from around the world and their families to stand and be recognized for their service. In addition to this recognition, SeaWorld’s Waves of Honor program gives any U.S. active duty military, activated or drilling reservist, or National Guardsman one complimentary admission per year for themselves and as many as three direct dependents. You can learn more about the program here.
It was during this “Hero’s Salute” that Tech. Sgt. Aixa Rodriguez came out from behind the scenes to surprise her family.
