Christmas in July arrives at Disney World

|

For the very first time, Disney will be jumping on the Christmas in July bandwagon and celebrating the most wonderful time of the year in its Disney Springs dinning, shopping, and entertainment complex. Running from Saturday, July 15 to Sunday, July 30, the shindig will consist of several different events:

Special food and drinks

Both Dockside Margaritas and Starbucks will have seasonal beverages on hand, with the former serving the Snowflake Margarita and the latter offering its typical range of (yummy) winter drinks.

AristoCrepes, meanwhile, will feature a gingerbread crepe, Goofy’s Candy Company and Disney’s Candy Cauldron will offer up everything from peppermint bark to Santa Mickey specialty apples, and, finally, Amorette’s Patisserie will be selling a “uniquely-shaped” gingerbread cookie.

Special events

What would a limited-time event be at Walt Disney World without special character meet-‘n-greets? Disney’s Days of Christmas, a year-round Xmas shop, will feature Santa Claus decked out for the Florida summer, while The Art of Disney will host some of the artists behind its various wares.

While standing in line for Santa, guests can also enjoy Christmas music (mixed by a live DJ) or get their faces painted with seasonal designs.

Shopping and decorations

A big component of the Christmas season is, of course, shopping, and Disney doesn’t disappoint here, promising that visitors can find the perfect gift at the Disney Springs Marketplace’s various stores. Additionally, the entire area will be decked out in typical Disney holiday style, including, even, the water fountains.

Though not the most elaborate of events, it’s nonetheless a nice little way to make your Disney World vacation this summer a little extra magical – and, if Disney’s track record is anything to go by, prepare to see a more elaborate (and, perhaps, widespread) rollout for next July, as this could easily become the resort’s newest annual event.

Disney Springs’s Christmas in July runs from the 15th to the 30th.
