Cursed Coconut Club at Universal CityWalk: FIRST LOOK

|

Red Coconut Club has materialized into Cursed Coconut Club, a lounge with a distinct graveyard theme that seamlessly combines the vibrant spirit of carnival festivities with the somber beauty of a final resting place.

Cursed Coconut Club joins Universal’s Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Mardi Gras, taking place from February 3 through April 7, 2024. Available on select nights from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM and until 12:00 AM on Sundays, guests visiting Cursed Coconut Club can marvel at the themed decor and enjoy bewitching beverages such as the Bayou Banshee or New Orleans’ Sazerac.

History of Red Coconut Club Transformations

Cursed Coconut Club 2024 at Universal CityWalk
Cursed Coconut Club 2024 at Universal CityWalk

Prior to September 2022, Red Coconut Club sat vacant in Universal CityWalk, waiting for its dance floor to fill with patrons for the first time since 2020. Red Coconut Club donned Universal Monsters-inspired decor to haunt alongside the Halloween Horror Nights 31 festivities and was called Dead Coconut Club. The all-hallows bar experienced tremendous success, leading to the decision to bring it back that year for the holiday season at Universal as Green & Red Coconut Club, and again for Universal Mardi Gras as Cursed Coconut Club.

Since its inaugural year, anticipating the next transformation of Red Coconut Club has become a cherished tradition. More recently, Red Coconut Club played into Universal Orlando’s movie-making roots with Revenge of the Dead Coconut Club, which entertained guests during the HHN.

This club has undergone a spectral revival for Mardi Gras 2024, and we have all the details on what to expect from this season’s graveyard gala.

Cursed Coconut Club Theming

The iron gates of Cursed Coconut Club’s cemetery beckon the living, with a vine-covered hearse stationed outside, harboring the bar’s newest resident.

Stepping inside, the walls of this lounge have succumbed to the relentless encroachment of vines. Wilted floral arrangements, left by mourners in times past, add to the ambiance of forgotten elegance. This level features two bars and ample seating, encouraging visitors to relax among the tombstones.

From time to time, live performances grace the stage on this level at Cursed Coconut Club – just another great reason to grab your Krewe and visit this venue during Mardi Gras!

Promise not to tell? Venture upstairs to discover a hidden speakeasy outfitted with plush furniture and a dedicated bar. It’s the perfect spot to share secrets over cocktails – or chat about your day at Universal Orlando Resort!

Meet Raven at Cursed Coconut Club

Visit at the opportune moment, and you might encounter the lounge’s resident shapeshifter – Raven. As they take on different guises, keep your eyes peeled to spot this character amidst the shadows.

Cursed Coconut Club Menu

What spirits await at Cursed Coconut Club? To complement the atmosphere of each level, the upstairs and downstairs offer differing menus. The lower floor’s beverages are inspired by the realm of the afterlife, embracing themes of the great beyond, whereas the upstairs serves as an homage to New Orleans, with a menu that celebrates the city’s signature cocktails.
