UPDATE (07.29.18): during this year’s Midsummer Scream panel, Universal divulged a few extra tidbits about its most-recently-announced haunted house, including the fact that it’ll be situated in a soundstage, that its guest path will be made up of found objects (specifically, discarded carnival rides and games), that its finale will take place in a dilapidated Tunnel of Love (called the “Luv Shak”), and that its scareactors will be “amazing, violent carnies.” If that doesn’t get your blood pumping, we don’t know what will.
Universal today revealed the fifth haunted house for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights.
Carnival Graveyard: Rust in Pieces is the combination of numerous carnivals and years of decay. Guests will be “trespassing” through this graveyard only to find themselves in the middle of bloody walls and abandoned rides used for torture. Carnies seeking revenge will be found throughout the original house.
The house joins the Halloween Horror Nights 2018 lineup in a time when urban exploring, especially of abandoned theme parks and carnivals, is at its height in culture.
Carnival Graveyard will join Stranger Things, Dead Exposure: Patient Zero, Trick ‘r Treat, and Slaughter Sinema at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights, which runs for a record-breaking 34 select nights, from Friday, September 14 to Saturday, November 3.
