9 breathtaking morning photos of Universal’s Volcano Bay

Last month, we had the opportunity to photograph Universal’s Volcano Bay before it opened for the day as part of Universal’s #UOInstaMeet. InstaMeets at Universal Orlando are always a blast. In the past, they’ve allowed us to give you a look at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure after they close for the night […]

Volcano Bay removes almost 30 food choices

Universal’s Volcano Bay has removed roughly 28 menu items from the restaurants across the park, Orlando Informer has learned. Four new items have been introduced to replace the removed items. When it opened in May, Volcano Bay featured far superior food offerings when compared to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. This change begins […]

Neil @ 04/29/2017 01:12

Enjoyed it, but was surprised that my 11 year old immediately noticed how similar it was to Spider-Man.

Neil @ 04/29/2017 01:16

Roller-coaster fans will love this indoor thrill ride. Fast, fast, fast with twists and turns and even a portion that goes backward. The theming is appropriate. Take the single-rider line and ride it over and over again!

Neil @ 04/29/2017 01:23

This is not to be missed, IMHO. The theming is incomparable, and I’m not at all familiar with the Harry Potter world (unlike my 11 year old). Rivals Forbidden Journey as a premier attraction.

Neil @ 04/29/2017 01:26

Since I am not at all familiar with Harry Potter’s world, this was just a relaxing way to get to the other park, nothing more.

Neil @ 04/29/2017 01:30

Both shows have tremendous appeal, even for an 11 year old boy who was equally entranced. And yes, I do love puppet theater.

Neil @ 04/29/2017 01:36

He didn’t get picked from the crowd, but was chosen on the way out so he had an experience with just the three of us in the room. This made his day!

Neil @ 04/29/2017 01:39

We only attended this show as we had overshot the entrance to Diagon Alley. The only redeeming quality – it was better than the stunt show at IoA!

Neil @ 04/29/2017 01:42

Mixed review since I would only give this a 3 star review, but my 11 year old would give it a 5 star review. He would use the single rider line to go five times in a row and never got sick of it. I believe he’s the target audience for this ride…

Neil @ 04/29/2017 01:51

Yes, I remember when this ride was just Back to the Future. The ride is essentially the same, but the theming in and around The Simpson’s is what makes it a great ride. I found myself laughing inappropriately several times during the pre-show. Make sure to stop by Duff’s afterwards…

Neil @ 04/29/2017 01:54

Tame, but made much more enjoyable with the carnivorous aliens theme.

Neil @ 04/29/2017 02:03

15 years ago, this was a premier attraction. However, time has not been good to this ride. Maybe it’s time for a hiatus? Make it unavailable for several years and then bring it back, a la Captain EO.

Neil @ 04/29/2017 02:08

My 11 year old scares easily, so had to close his eyes during parts (Chucky) but otherwise enjoyed this mild show, full of hackneyed humor and video clips. If you only have one day at this park, then feel free to miss it.

Neil @ 04/29/2017 02:13

…the show itself hasn’t. And yes, it does seem like it’s off the beaten path.

Neil @ 04/30/2017 12:06

Not to be missed….I’m not a Harry Potter fan at all, but was highly impressed by everything about this ride. In particular, it feels like it lasts for almost 10 minutes.

Neil @ 04/30/2017 12:10

Even my 11 year old son was bored. Storyline was non-existent, stunts were repetitious. We did not make it to the end.

Neil @ 04/30/2017 12:15

My 11 year old is a big fan of mythology, so was captivated by this attraction. Hard to really pin it down; it’s not a ride, nor is it really a show.

Neil @ 04/30/2017 12:24

This was the premier attraction before Harry Potter came to town. However, it has lost none of it’s appeal; it provides the appropriate scare factor without getting you drenched, like Ripsaw Falls.

Neil @ 04/30/2017 12:30

OK, I remember the old Kingfrontation and the 90 minute wait through that twisty subway hell of a line. Comparatively speaking, this was much better, but recommend you use when you have Express Pass. Otherwise….well, read the other reviews.

Neil @ 04/30/2017 12:32

Do it early on a hot day and enjoy getting soaked. Fun ride with a thrilling drop at the end.

Neil @ 04/30/2017 12:36

15 years ago, this was a premier ride and it still is. Unfortunately, what I remember most from 15 years ago is breaking down. Sadly, this was repeated. However, we got to ride again; my 11 year old loves it.
