Disney bloced our uber driver at disney parking. We had to fork out $17 and told we’d be reimbursed at guest services…didn’t happen. Meats has the contract with Disney. Too bad because our ride was much cheaper from hotel to magic kingdom with uber.

Mears taxi drivers pay upwards or $1000. a week for a cab on top of a taxi licence and fuel (surcharge) so a $3 a mile ride in reality is $4 a mile. An Uber driver needs a licence doesnt pay for the car and can make money faster. Id rather ride Uber.

Cabs charge an arm and a leg I really don’t blame people for wanting to save money. Cab fares have almost doubled in the last 10 years. I used to be able to travel about 6 or 7 miles for around 10 bucks now that same distance costs me over 20 bucks.

Same thing in Denver, CO. I believe they are gone now. The taxi unions were awful to them.

Sounds like a great idea to me. I never know whether the price the Taxi’s quote includes a tip. But then again, here in the UK we don’t tip the taxi drivers

John Benoit Taxi drivers are not jealous at all…..we are piss off for the fact that we pay a lot of money for those cars and the city permits as well and we have to watch out for the gypsies and now we uber as well and the fact is not that we have some competition….is the fact that uber give the fares way more cheap that the taxis companies but the companies dont give a crap about us kuz they just want theyr money so we suffer a lot with our regular bills and on top on that we pay for our gas as well and a lot of us pay child support too…so now you tell me if we are jealous or we are piss kuz from my point of view uber is taking food out of my kids mouth with the prices and now i barely can make the money for the cab and now i have to be outside my house longer hours just to try to make a decent money in order to support my family so if you don’t know how the bussiness run make a couple of research first before start talking

Imagine that y’all are cabbies. Cabbies who pay ALOT of money every week just to be a cab driver. You have the proper insurance (which is expensive),A taxi license (which also isn’t cheap) and the proper endorsements on your license. Now you have to contend with people using their own private vehicles under cutting you and stealing fares. These people don’t have the luxury of taking much time off from work anymore like the average person. Thanks to all the illegal gypsy cabs and now Uber these cabbies have to hustle to barely afford their cabs that they need to pay their bills. I see why Mears is so upset. He is losing money and so is his employee base. Shuttle buses at hotels and resorts have always existed but they don’t drop and pick up people 24/7 like a taxi does.
