My family and I recently stayed at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort and truly enjoyed our long weekend getaway with the convenience of staying practically on-site at Walt Disney World. We were in a well-appointed two bedroom/two bath suite that accommodated up to eight people. It had a spacious living room with sofa bed, dining room, fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher) and a washer/dryer. We also had a balcony with four chairs overlooking the lake in the center of the resort. Since we were on the 12th floor, we had an awesome view of the resort property.
The Wyndham Bonnet Creek property is beautifully landscaped and provides a tranquil, relaxing atmosphere that we greatly appreciated after spending long days at the theme parks. The resort complex has six multi-storied buildings surrounding a lake, and parking is free. Resort amenities include concierge services, five outdoor swimming pools, two lazy rivers with floats, waterslides, an activities center, outdoor amphitheater, WiFi internet service, miniature golf, shuffleboard, playground, sand volleyball court, two exercise equipment areas, and a recreation room with pool and ping pong tables. For those guests who like to grill outdoors, there were several grills along with picnic tables available at each resort building. Also available for the guests’ convenience was a Disney planning center staffed by Disney cast members. All these amenities were available at no additional cost.
We really enjoyed a relaxing walk along the wide pathway and sidewalks around the lake while enjoying the ducks, pristine landscaping and seeing many of the amenities available for guests to enjoy.
Resort activities are scheduled throughout the day and include but not limited to bingo, arts & crafts, face painting, creating ice cream sundaes, karaoke and bonfires.
The Wyndham Bonnet Creek resort provides shuttle service for $6.00 round trip per person to the four Walt Disney World theme parks and Downtown Disney several times a day. Taxis are also available and may be more convenient than the shuttle schedule.
If guests prefer not to prepare their own meals, there are three eateries and several bars located throughout the resort where guests can purchase a variety of meals from breakfast sandwiches, pizzas and other Italian dishes, salads, burgers, sandwiches, seafood and appetizers along with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Our last night at the resort we purchased burgers, fries and chicken fingers for dinner and they were very good.
I would recommend this Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort for those who like the convenience of staying near Walt Disney World coupled with the ability to prepare their own meals and have a home-like environment in which to relax after a long day at the parks. This resort is ideal for the vacationer who prefers to rest and relax on alternating days between visiting theme parks. It is also a good place to stay if there are four or more people in the family. We enjoyed our mini-vacation at Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort and hope to visit again in the future.
