The Woods: New downtown bar brings rustic feel to Orlando’s nightlife

As many of you have read in my previous posts, I love to go out. I love to experience new places, and, most of all, I love downtown Orlando. I love the thrill of seeing new faces, running into friends and continuing my hunt for that oh-so-perfect cocktail that will round out all my evenings spent searching. You can obviously imagine my excitement when a new bar called The Woods opened up a few weeks ago in downtown.

Located above The Lodge, The Woods offers a swanky spot to wind down your day or spend a fun evening out. The stairs leading into the bar, the tables, the chairs and pretty much everything in the place is made of cleanly cut and finished wood and the smell of it is so fresh and lovely. The wooden bar is quite large and serves as a main focal point for the open room. Tables and chairs are strategically placed on either side of the bar to make for easy movement throughout.

During our recent visit the bartenders and table servers were always gracious, and smiling, and more than happy to help us choose drinks off of the carefully crafted menu. With fresh juices and ingredients, cocktails can be made to order per your preferences.

I absolutely love this feature about The Woods. Bartenders carefully make fresh drinks and cocktails based off each person’s individual tastes. It is exciting to taste what they create specifically for you and it makes the experience that much more personal and enjoyable. You can also choose from various classics that have been given a homemade twist only The Woods bartenders can supply. They are talented if I may say so.

Only 80 or so people are allowed inside the bar at any time which makes the overall experience at The Woods one of relaxation and pure delight. It never has felt overcrowded, and it allows for a more intimate gathering between you, your group, and the new friends you make at the bar.

Whether you’re coming for drinks after work, starting an evening out or finishing it off, The Woods provides a calm and rustic feeling that is the perfect spot to hang out in. I look forward to many more visits to The Woods and, lucky me, I won’t even have to leave the city!

The Woods is located on North Orange Avenue above The Lodge. The entrance is located to the left hand side of the outside seating area when facing the front of The Lodge. Take the stairs up to the top and you’ll find yourself transported to The Woods.

Editor’s note: I was unable to find an official website for The Woods or any social networks representing the establishment. If you know of one, please leave a link in the comments below. Thanks!
