Hey Mack, appreciate the kind words and hope you’re enjoying the Universal NOW! podcast (and if you are please leave a review on iTunes). I listened to the podcast several times and I’m pretty sure they discussed Disney has the current charging stations there only as a temporary measure until MyMagic+ is fully implemented. You can charge your phone at City Hall (you have to leave it with them), but what he was talking to in that area was a dedicated area to switch guests’ FastPass+ attractions over to different attractions in case of emergency.

That said, both Disney and Universal are going to have to do some major work on charging areas if they plan on making apps and things of that nature part of guests’ day at the park. I went into the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Universal last week each morning with a full battery and was dead by 2-3PM. And I wasn’t running the MyDisneyExperience app. What’s going to happen if all my Dining reservations and FastPass+ reservations are on a dead phone?

I listen to the Disney Dish podcast too, and what I got out of it was that Disney needed a second charging station since the my Disney experience and wifi will take up a lot of battery life. The first one being City Hall and the second this one. I can see Disney putting Fastpass kiosks in both City Hall and Tangled, but why should they get rid of the charging stations?
