Reader poll doubleheader: Dole Whip vs. butterbeer & Spider-Man vs. TRANSFORMERS

|

If you’ve ever been to Disney World, you’ve probably had a taste of their ever-popular Dole Whip or Dole Whip floats. We know how much people love Dole Whips, so with butterbeer establishing itself as the clear winner in last week’s What’s your favorite Universal drink? poll, we decided to set up a face off between these two delightful treats!

For those not familiar with either of these beverages, here’s the lowdown: Dole Whip is a soft serve frozen treat. Though it can be found in some other locations and flavors, it is probably most well known for it’s pineapple soft serve that is available at the Magic Kingdom’s Aloha Isle and at Disney’s Polynesian Resort’s Captain Cook’s. A Dole Whip float takes this pineapple dessert one step further and tops it with Dole’s pineapple juice. Butterbeer can be found in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. It is sold in two varieties, frozen and regular. The flavor is similar to cream soda and butterscotch. Both butterbeer versions are topped off with a frothy flavored foam.

So what’s it gonna be…

Next up we have the battle of Spider-Man versus the TRANSFORMERS bots!

Until recently The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man was the only attraction of its kind at Universal Orlando, combing vehicle motion, special effects, larger-than-life moving sets, and incredible 3D film projection. But now it has some serious competition with the newly opened TRANSFORMERS: The Ride – 3D.

These attractions are quite similar, yet at the same time they are very different. Let’s take a closer look at each one: In The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man you become a news reporter for the Daily Bugle, quickly finding yourself on the trail of an amazing story. You soar with Spidey as he takes on several of Marvel’s sinister villains, traveling through neighborhood streets scaling skyscrapers — ending with a 400-foot simulated free fall. The clever mix of physical sets and projected 3D animation throughout the attraction blend seamlessly, soaring Spider-Man to one of the all-time best and most loved dark rides. At TRANSFORMERS you become a N*E*S*T recruit and battle alongside Optimus Prime and Bumblebee as they fight the intergalactic battle for the AllSpark. TRANSFORMERS is an ultra-immersive thrill ride, fast-paced and full of action. While Spider-Man has more physical sets, TRANSFORMERS features nearly life-like 3D animation, putting all of your senses right in the middle of the fight between Optimus and Megatron.

Both attractions are fantastic, but only one can be the best…

Butterbeer has to be the most disgusting fluid posing as a drink known to man. Sugary vomit topped off with sugary bile. Dole whip tastes delicious sorbet and juice all the way!!

Shouldn’t butter beer be compared to that new fantasy land brew, not a dole whip? Nothing compares to a dole whip!

Has to be a dole whip for the drink and personally I just thought Transformers was the same as Spider-Man just with a different film!!! So Spider-Man it is.
