They didn’t use them from my understanding over the summer so I was really surprised to see them out. This season was INSANE. If you can avoid coming here from December 26-31st do so because the lines for everything are absolutely ridiculous.

That’s too bad about Little Mermaid. But, I’m not much for dark rides anyway, so I didn’t have very high expectations to began with. Guess it’ll be a long time before I try it. I bet Noa will like it though, once she’s a little older.

Yes, I rode the new version of Test Track about a week ago. And, yeah, I was pretty disappointed in that one. The Tron theming was impressive enough. But the big problem now is that the original ride track, which didn’t change, does not jive at all with the new story. So the whole ride experience now just came off as confusing to me.

As I had mentioned on Facebook at the time, the new Test Track reminds me of why I don’t like the new version of Spaceship Earth (I think that got refurbed like four years ago). The new theme for Spaceship Earth is about how our past is shaping our future. It is a fine theme, but it doesn’t mix with the selected scenes that were originally designed to tell the history of communication — so it all feels disjointed and random. That’s exactly how I feel about the new Test Track experience.

But of course the end of the ride is fun as always and it is pretty glitzy now, so I’m sure it’ll continue to be a winner. But it definitely is not a solid attraction, both in story and execution, like it was before.

Like this last year for “One More Disney Day” where the Magic Kingdom was open for 24 hours between February 29 & March 1 I saw people lining up with young kids at 2-3 am and had waits at every attraction throughout the night/morning.

I have ridden Voyage Under the Sea during the passholder preview and was less than impressed. I felt that the ride looked and felt dated, and considering it’s brand-new that was a major disappointment. I was hoping for a bit more polish and elaborate theming on the ride that would differentiate it a bit form every other ho-hum dark ride Disney offers. Unfortunately that’s not the case and I felt like I was riding a slightly different version of Nemo over at Epcot. The wait at around midnight was down t being a walk-on, but we decided to do Haunted Mansion & Big Thunder Mountain instead, and ran out of time for Voyage Under the Sea. Honestly, I doubt you’ll enjoy it very much when you finally do get to ride it, but who knows. Definitely don’t wait 270 minutes though, not worth it!

As far as Be Our Guest, I have not had the pleasure to eat there yet. We ate on the Disney Boardwalk at the brewery on Saturday which was tasty and not so crazy like Epcot was when we arrived. I have been inside Be Our Guest and looked around, the theming and look are fantastic. It’s definitely on our to-do list to make it over for a meal there and from what I’ve seen it’s the main reason other than Lefou’s Brew that I’ll be going back to New Fantasyland until the Seven Dwarf’s Mine Coaster is opened next year.

Taking this slightly off-topic, but have you ridden Test Track yet since it reopened? If so, what did you think? I haven’t had the stomach to wait out the 90+ minute lines both times I’ve been to Epcot since it reopened.

That’s incredible. You know I follow wait times on Twitter, and there were some extraordinary numbers. But, since the majority of the holiday crowds are families who aren’t likely to stay up late, I guess it doesn’t surprise me that the wait times dropped so much in the late evening. The big things I want to know is (1) did you get a chance to ride Voyage Under The Sea and what did you think, and (2) did you get to eat at Be Our Guest?

I’ve been to New Fantasyland three times and still haven’t been able to get into either one.

They must’ve all been there for the daytime festivities and left after the fireworks. Outside of a 60 minuteĀ  wait at Space Mountain I walked onto every other attraction. I think the cooler December nights in Orlando helped clear the crowds out a bit as well.
