This week Universal started a new promotion, and brought back an old promotion, that is all geared toward getting your family to visit their parks for three days. Many Orlando visitors still consider Universal a day trip during their Disney vacation. While the phenomenal success of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter convinced legions of new fans that Universal is indeed a multi-day destination, this new push demonstrates that Universal still thinks there are many minds to change.

Let’s take a look at what Universal is now offering…

Add a third day free

Now through June 17, 2013, United States and Canadian residents can get a third day of admission free when purchasing a 2-day Base (one park per day) or 2-day Park-to-Park admission ticket to Universal’s theme parks. This averages to about a $15.00 savings, which isn’t a lot since it doesn’t cost much to upgrade from a 2-day to a 3-day ticket anyway, but every little bit helps. The final cost is $129.94 with tax and fees for the 2+1 Base adult ticket and $151.24 with tax and fees for the 2+1 Park-to-Park adult ticket.

Regarding residency, Universal states that you must have a valid photo ID like a drivers license to prove that you live in the U.S. or Canada. However, since you can print the tickets at home and they never check IDs at the turnstiles (they only check IDs when you pick up tickets at the sales booths, like Florida residents are required to), I’m not sure if this will actually be enforced — unless you have a ticket issue and have to visit Guest Services.

This promotion is only available online. Before making a decision, you can learn much more about Universal ticket pricing on our Price comparison page.

Military personnel receive free 3-day ticket

After a nearly two year hiatus, Universal has brought back their Military Salute program through March 31, 2013. Now all active duty and retired service members can receive a 3-day Park-to-Park admission ticket for free. VERY IMPORTANT: To redeem your complimentary ticket, you must visit a military base ticket office (ITT/LTS). These tickets cannot be redeemed online at UniversalOrlando.com, nor are they available at the parks! You can view this PDF brochure to learn more, or visit UniversalOrlando.com/military.

If you are already in Orlando and you want to pick up your free Military Salute ticket, you can try contacting Shades of Green, the Armed Forces Recreation Center and resort located on Disney World property.

So what are you waiting for? Go buy some tickets!

By the way, all of this information (and so much more) is also on our UOR attractions, promotions & events page.
